I purchased a filly from Sund Pets (www.dakotaeranch.com/sundpets) in Minot, ND, gypsy vanner/shire cross, and when I received her she was quite sick. Turns out the mare never had vaccinations, and the filly was filled with worms. My vet was very upset with the condition of the filly. I have looked for a ND human society to report this to and only came up with your site. These people are running a horse mill. The conditions of transporting these babies across county is just horrifying. No room to move, no water, no food. My filly was the first off and that was a 13hr trip. the rest were going to Wi, Il and Ind. We paid big money and should have received healthly babies. Someone needfs to shut this operation down. Do you know who to contact?

The latest fundraising scam the HSUS tried to get away with (but was called out on) is recorded here: http://www.petconnection.com/blog/2009/12/04/hsus-fund-raising-pitch-raises-hackles/

In other words, they are STILL at it. They are a wolf in sheep's clothing.

She kept her animals at my grandpas woodstock farm ( Where I personally walked in the arena to ride... to find a dead horse lying in the arena, where it stayed for days.. if not a week) I always fed the horses when i was there, and gave them water. After she left there, a while later in november/december of 07 i believe.. she started "leasing" the huge 5million dollar place in richmond. She called me, told me i could keep my horses there for free, and get paid to work for her! I of course took this opportunity.. I then saw how crazy she really was!!! I cannot begin to describe how horrible she is.. She is an animal collector, and baby obsessed. She would go to the auctions and buy pregnant mares, but yet couldnt afford her rent, nor feeding the horses she was boarding/owned herself. I ended up quitting.. she stiffed me out of alot of money then had the nerve to call me a horse abuser, and was threatening me about calling the humane society on me.. REALLY? I have a 25yr old t.b that looks like hes 15. My horses are my #1 priority and thats how it always will be!

Our horse issues are more realistic than many know. Due to the ecomony, some that take their horses to auction end up paying the auction house as they bid was not enough to cover the commission. Some don't get a bid at tall so the Owner must retrieve. Due to uncontrollable situations of some the worst happens. Many if not most of the Humane Societies are not equiped to handle horses so they post and provide information of several rescues thru-out the State. The rescues operate completely by donations - they are overburdoned beyond belief and are not financially suppoted by the Goverment or the Humane Societies So many must also turn horses away as they are barely surviving to maintain what they have.. If you all want to keep every horse alive then everyone must chip in to provide the support and livelihood you all want for these animals. Note: The US had the best regulated horse slaughter facilities. You closed them and now whine that they are heading to Mexico and Canada with unhumane conditions. Truly, which is the worse fate, starving in a pasture or completing a cirle of life. At least if we kept the slaughter houses we could have fed the zoos if human consumption was such the issue. There must be compromise as its not getting better but only worse.
