All Horses

that’s what we’re about

Slaughter

Here are the blog posts regarding horse slaughter, a controversial topic even many horse owners consider a necessary evil.

My opinion on this issue, in short, is that it is not only necessary but also not inherently evil.

Most Americans eat meat. We have decided that cows, pigs, chickens and others are acceptable for the table. What makes it unacceptable for our neighbors to eat horses? Let’s not impose our opinions of what is or is not a dinner option by legislating what others may eat. As long as horse slaughter is regulated and cruelty is avoided, I believe it should be legal.

I understand that some people believe that killing any animal is cruel and inhumane. They are welcome to their opinion, but not welcome to strip the freedoms and rights of their neighbors away due to their own beliefs.

I think it’s time that people focus on the cruelty to humans instead of giving animanls rights over people. Wouldn’t their time and money be better spent trying to do away with child pron and abuse. Not all horseman are irresponsible, but we can all understand the need to cull stock, this anti slaughter bill will not allow us a place for unwanted horses.
Do we need to turn the loose??? Or better yet let your tax dollars pay for them, myself I have enough of my own I do not need to feed someone elses.

Laws to close United States slaughter houses clearly did not think ahead to the consequences. Common sense went out the window. Makes it hard to have any faith in our elected officials
